Sanya launches citywide fire safety campaign amid peak tourist season
A citywide fire safety campaign has been launched by the Sanya Fire Department to tackle fire risks and improve the fire handling capability across the city.
The clean-up campaign from Sept.26 revealed that there were 356 fire hazards in 215 family hostels and hotels.
The campaign covers 120 units including supermarkets, entertainment centers, hotels and scenic spots.
As there is an increased risk of fire over the winter season, the busiest time of the year for tourism, the fire authority has listed new guidances for star-related hotels to urge them to support the management.
According to the regulation, all fire safety requirements are needed to be applied consistently and correctly to ensure the guests safe from the risks of fire.
In addition, the fire department also intensifies supervision on several tourist attractions. At present, they have set up three fire stations in Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, Wuzhizhou Island and Yalong Bay Tropical Forest Park.
