Fire accidents in Sanya decline 75% in November
Fire accidents in Sanya in November dropped by 75% from a month earlier and 88% over the same period of last year, said the local fire department.
In November, only 1 case of fire was reported and no one was injured.
During the fire clean-up campaign, the fire department has dispatched 3,581 staff and inspected 1,761 units. Among them 800 units were found with hazards that may contribute to the risk of fire and injury in businesses.
As the Lunar New Year is approaching, fireworks celebrations would likely lead to more fires. Fire authorities called on all local departments to step up prevention measures against these accidents and reminded the public to obey fire control rules.
