In recent years, the increasing vehicles movement and relatively narrow roads have caused traffic congestion problems in Sanya city.
 
Jiefang Road, the busiest city road, has to face increasing traffic problems as most city buses are operating here every day. This heavy traffic has been clogging the main road and causing great inconvenience to pedestrians and drivers.
 
Besides, in some narrow roads which are used for traffic, there have been parked vehicles causing  a bad traffic situation and adding to these traffic jams.
 
Though the roads in the downtown center have been widened over the past years, there is no more space for widening as there are shops and residences on both sides of the roads.
 
Considering the current situation, Sanya has launched a massive movement to tackle these uncivilized traffic behaviors and is planning to carry out rules to ease traffic congestion.
