The passenger throughput of Sanya Phoenix Airport is expected to hit 10 million this year.
 
According to statistics from the airport, as of Nov.14 the total number of flights that had departed and landed at the airport was 60,599, an increase of 1.02% over the same period last year, while passenger throughput increased 8.06% to 8.857 million.
 
With the increase of domestic flights to Sanya during the winter peak season, the passenger throughput is likely to hit 10 million and break the record of 9.3 million set last year.
 
At present, major domestic cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenyang, Chengdu, Harbin and Chongqing have aggressively increased their flights to Sanya during the winter season. In November alone, the passenger throughput has been over 450,000, an increase of 50.6%.
