SuperStar Aquarius starts inaugural voyage from Sanya to Danang, Vietnam
With a long hoot, the cruise liner SuperStar Aquarius left from Sanya Phoenix International Island Cruise Terminal slowly on Nov.4 for its 4-month-long voyage to Vietnam’s Danang, Halong Bay and Hue destinations.
Followed by Shanghai Port and Tianjin Port, Sanya is the third homeport city in the Chinese mainland open for cruise ship routes.
With a displacement of up to 51,000 tons, the ship can carry 1,529 passengers. During its deployment period, 150,000 passengers are expected to board the cruise to visit Sanya.
In order to debut its best image to passengers, the cruise company invested 1.6 million dollars on the refurbishment which incorporated the addition of a 360-degree 18-hole mini golf course and driving range, a new wine and cigar bar ‘Lagoon Bar’ and enhancements to the child-care centre and video arcade.
We’re glad to present this Sanya-homeport itinerary as the incomparable natural resources and favorable duty-free policy in Sanya will definitely give another boost to the Hainan cruise industry.
Since 2006, a total of 298 international cruise ships have called at Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal, bringing more than 320,000 international passengers to the city.
