According to the Ministry of Railways ticket booking website, 12306.cn, a Haikou-Harbin direct train service is expected to open on July 1st of this year.

The whole journey, spanning a distance of about 4,000 km, will be operated by K1122 trains with a total travel duration of 65 hours. The train will have 45 stops as it passes through 11 provinces including Guangzhou, Jiangxi, Hubei, Anhui, Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang.

Train ticket prices have also been set. A one-way ticket for a hard-seater is set at 458 yuan per person and tickets for hard and soft-sleepers are 771 yuan and 801 yuan per person respectively.

Many citizens are pleased about the new service. Xiao Yu, a college student who came to Hainan to study, said she has been wishing for such a direct train route from Hainan to her hometown Harbin for a long time and will definitely try to get a seat on it to save money when returning home for her family reunion during this year’s spring festival travel.
