Tourist arrivals in Hainan reach 21.56 million in Jan-Sep, 2011
Tourist arrivals in Hainan reached 21.56 million in the first three quarters, an increase of 11% over the same period last year, the Hainan Tourism Bureau report showed.
Total revenue for tourists spending was up 12.1% to 21.5 billion yuan from the corresponding period of the previous year.
In the first three quarters, both domestic and overseas tourism markets have enjoyed stable growth. The number of domestic tourist arrivals totaled 20.71 million, an increase of 11%, and domestic tourism revenue reached 19.64 billion yuan, up 12.1%
In terms of the overseas tourist components, tourists from Russia still remain the main force with tourist arrivals reaching 146,000 from Jan to Sept, up 44%.
Visitor arrivals from Europe increased by 32.3% to reach 374,000 for the 9 month period.
In addition, visitor arrivals from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau also climbed impressively reaching 164,000, an increase of 7.9%..
