Recently, the Sanya Government has approved a document to renovate urban villages and old urban buildings within Yuechuan district in the span of 10 years.

According to the planning, Yuechuan Zone is designed to be a supporting service center for Sanya Bay, where several core functional projects like themed hotels, commercial shopping malls, entertainment center, bus terminals, real estate and public green parks are on the priority list.

Meanwhile, any new construction projects within Yuechuan Zone will be restrictively carried out under the development rules.

Located at the fan-shape area at intersection of Sanya East River and West River, Yuechuan Zone covers an area of 13.14 square kilometers. The rapid urban development has made the renovation of urban villages high on the government's work agenda.
