Sanya Duty-free Store sees 1,880,000 visitors since April 20
The implementation of the Hainan Offshore Duty-free policy on April 20 has proved to be an impetus boosting the island shopping tourism economy. As of Oct. 20, the Sanya Duty-free Store received 1.88 million visitors and recorded 573,362 deals.
On the first day of its trial operation, Sanya Duty-free Shop received nearly 180,000 visitors and recorded 5,000 sales. Among the various duty-free items, perfume and cosmetics transaction sales accounted for 48.95% of total sales.
Meanwhile, the increasing popularity among visitors also encourages the shop to make proper marketing strategies to improve service quality. Facilities like resting areas and guardrails are set up to limit the number of visitors in order to create a smooth shopping environment during peak periods.
In addition, the company also introduced other big-brands including Armani Jean, Emporio Armani, Laneige, Jurlique, Helena Rubinstein, Kose, Sulwhasoo and SK-II to offer a wide range of options for bargain hunters.
