Hainan Provincial Land Environment and Resources Department recently announced the approval of commercial development of 2 uninhabited islets in Sanya.
 
The 2 uninhabited islets, Dongluo Islet and Xigu Islet, are among the list of 176 islets released by the National Oceanic Bureau, and are the first batch of islets in Hainan approved for commercial exploitation.

In order to improve protection and management of uninhabited islets, the government has established strict assessment criteria and regulations for developers so that they have appropriate development plans to use the islets for the stipulated purposes.
