Taxi drivers in Sanya are supposed to receive a free multi-language travel guide starting from Oct. 10 to help deliver better service when guiding visitors around the city, according to the local authority.
 
The multi-language travel guide, produced by Sanya Taxi Association, covers a wide range of travel information such as scenic spots, real estates, restaurants, star-related hotels and shopping in English, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
 
With an increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Sanya every year, it is important for taxi drivers, the first point of contact with visitors, to know how to handle passengers who speak many languages and be able to tell passengers accurate information in a confident and international manner, said the responsible person of the Sanya Taxi Association.
 
The use of a multi-language travel guide will greatly help improve the service quality of taxi drivers and tackle the communication obstacles when drivers are guides for passengers.
