The Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone has witnessed 18,400 tourist arrivals during the 3-day Mid-Autumn holiday, reports xinhuanet.com.

According to the report,  individual island tourists and family tours were the main source of  short-term visits.

As self-drive tours are becoming a popular choice for many tourists, Nanshan has received more than 1,650 vehicles carrying tourists setting off from Guangdong, Guangxi and other neighboring provinces.

On the 3-day visit, Nanshan Temple, Nanhai Guanyin Statue and vegetarian Buddhist food turned out as a huge hit among tourists.
