Haikou ranked 8th among the top ten Chinese cities in national livable competitiveness, according to the Blue Paper of National Competitiveness released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on May 19th in Beijing.

According to the report, the other nine cities on the ranking list were Hong Kong, Macau, Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhuhai, Suzhou, Weihai, Zhenjiang and Zhongshan.

In terms of the comprehensive competitiveness of economic growth, the top ten cities were Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai, Taipei, Guangzhou, Beijing, Suzhou, Foshan, Tianjin and Macau.

The report also listed the top ten cities in national competitiveness for business potential as Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Foshan, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Qingdao and Hangzhou.

The Blue Paper of National Competitiveness is issued by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, which includes the rankings of competitiveness in sustainable development, urban livable capacity, business potential and multi-cultural degree
