Sanya sees 20% higher hotel occupancy rate during Mid-Autumn Festival
Hotel occupancy rate in Sanya has enjoyed slight growth during the short-term Mid-Autumn Festival which fell on September 12, reports hinews.cn.
“Our room rates do not appear to have had a marked increase during the holiday”, said the sales manager of the Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay Resort and Spa. The hotel occupancy rate reached 80%, up 10% more than the normal rate.
Despite the off season, the occupancy rate in many hotels saw a 20% increase during the holiday. Besides, some hotels introduced some promotion discounts to attract travelers.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the continuous rain forced many hotels to cancel their outdoor activities.
“Many guests felt a little disappointed because their hotel program had to be suspended. However, we hope that weather in the upcoming National Day holiday will be good as we are starting to make good preparation to welcome the peak season”, said Lian Zhijie, the sales manager of the Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay.
