With less than one month left for the upcoming National Day holiday, bookings for outbound tours enter the peak period. According to tour operators, the prices for Hainan outbound tourism are set to jump up to 30%, reports 0898.net.

Trips to Asian countries like Japan have seen a hike of nearly 8,000 yuan and trips to Singapore and Malaysia have increased by around 4,000 yuan

Travel operators attribute the prospective increases to demand and likely higher airfare and accommodation costs.

During the National Day holiday, oversea tours to Hong Kong and Macao still remain in popular demand.

Price hikes on these kinds of tours are quite common. Tours to Hong Kong is 3,800 yuan per person, 30% higher than the 3,000 yuan per person on low-season days, said local operators.

Meanwhile, the number of people heading for Taiwan will increase due to the opening of direct flights this month. Costs for a 5-day tour to Taiwan will remain at the normal price of 5,800 yuan person despite higher accommodation costs.
