Some desirable locations like Waimao Road, Danzhou Community, Gangmen Village and Shangpingjie have shared the common problem of increases in rents during the winter season compared to previous months.

On Waimao Road, the average monthly rent for a bedroom now is at 450 yuan. When it comes to winter season, rent prices will soar up to 800 to1,000 yuan, an increase of nearly 80%.

Many landlords are unwilling to do long-term rent business as they want to keep the house for snow birds with a higher rent price.

Currently, the rising price has been a bottleneck for rent demand, driving many to move to suburban areas like Phoenix Town, Jiyang Town and Lizhigou Area, where rent prices are cheaper and more stable throughout all the year.
