Up until May 14th, Haikou’s air quality was the best out of 74 major Chinese cities for four consecutive months this year.

Starting from January 1st, 2013, the 74 cities including those in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region and the Pearl River Delta area began to release data on the levels of carbon monoxide, ozone, PM2.5, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, inhalable participates (PM10) and air quality index.

According to the monitoring data from April, excellent and good air quality in Haikou was present 100% of the time .
