The affordable housing project is part of a government social safety system to solve the basic living needs for low-income families over the next five years.

 

Of a 6,625 billion yuan total investment, 8300 billion yuan will be provided by local governments for the low-rent houses and reconstruction of urban shanty areas and the rest will be raised by private businesses.

 

When completed, the project will cover 43.3% of the city’s total housing supply.
