The Transport authority placed the changes it made recently to certain routes that limit within downtown Sanya before 150 new taxis added to run on the city roads, reports xinhuanet.com.

According to the routes changes, the 150 new taxis will be sent to the downtown center within the areas among Phoenix Road, Sanya Bay Road, Dadonghai Area, airport and Railway Station. The operators are not allowed to pick up passengers at the scenic spots.

Many taxi drivers are not positive about the advertisement considering the routes change to some extent will influence their earnings. The notice issued two days later has only attracted less than 40 applicants.

The routes change of taxis is part of a move by the authorities to relieve the difficulty in taking taxis in downtown.

The 150 new taxis licensed to operate in sections of downtown will differ from other previous taxis from its appearance and a notice will be placed in the striking part to inform passengers of its special routes.
