"There are many construction sites which consist of various sizes of pits and holes. The loud noise from the working machine day and night has greatly disturbed our normal life,” said one resident living in the Yinbing Road.

Another resident complained that many of the road construction sites here are not properly fenced off. They pose a danger to passersby, especially children and elderly.

Mr. Chen, a Shanghai tourist working in engineering industry observed almost all construction sites in Sanya are not adopting construction safety standards and considered hazardous workplaces.

Authority has launched an intensified inspection on erring construction sites in the city. The construction will be suspended if working conditions fail to abide by relevant regulations.
