A developer gets 2 years for building illegal property on Sanya farmland
A non-island private developer responsible for an illegal construction building in Sanya has been sentenced to 2 years in prison by the local court and fined of 20,000 yuan, reports 0898.net.
Mr. Huang, the property developer, bought the land after making an agreement with the villagers for agricultural purposes.
Occupying a farmland area of nearly 23,000 sqm, an apartment was built in Phoenix Town of Sanya in May last year illegally without maintaining governmental rules.
As part of the demolition drive against unauthorized buildings, the apartment was forced to be demolish on July 23, 2010.
