To keep tourists and their properties safe on major beachfronts, Sanya police authorities has beefed up a group of guards patrolling the beach recently, reports 0898.net.
 
On the evening of August 5, a man was grabbed by beach guards after spotting him stealing a bag belonging to a Shanghai tourist.
The theft, age 27, confessed that he stole the tourist’s bag when he saw him facing out to the water.
 
With his bag back, the Shanghai tourist Mr. Yang was very grateful for what the beach guards did. Inside the bag, he found his valuable digital camera worth 11,000 yuan.
 
Till now, local police has destroyed a bag-stolen gang and arrested 8 suspects on the beachfronts.
 
As the tourist season goes into high gear, local police are warning beach goers to be vigilant on their belongings.
