Sanya to implement a new regulation to improve port management
A new regulation to improve port management introduced by the Sanya Government will take effect from August 15. According to the regulation, yachts and fishing boats will dock in separated areas, reports 0898.net.
At present, different kinds of boats anchor on Sanya River, which is a poorly regulated pollution source of coastal sewers, along with emissions from ships and maritime trade.
To better deal with the clear-up and relocation of these vessels, the local government will divide the river into different functional areas.
According to the regulation, the former west estuary is temporarily open for tourism boat docks and the east estuary for local fishing boats. Besides, the plan leaves about 100 miles east offshore open for what is temporarily called yachts and recreational boat docks built before completion of a public terminal on the side of Luhuitou Park for recreational boats.
