Construction of Sanya Sports Centre completes in June
The construction of the Sanya Sports Centre was due to complete on June 4. The Olympic-standard stadium, which has a seating capacity of 16,000, took 3 years to build from October 2008 at a cost of 280 million yuan.
Lying inside the Sanya Advanced Technology College, Lizhigou Area, the centre is the first of its kind ever built in Sanya.
Adopting advanced construction materials in the structure and design, the center consists of various parts including a 3,000-seat indoor stadium, an 8-lane swimming pool, a football field, a basketball court, a volleyball court and a multi-purpose field.
According to relevant departments, the National University Games are scheduled to be held at the Sanya Sports Centre this year.
