Construction of the 5-star hotels zone in Sanya's Haitang Bay is speeding up and a mixture of more than 100 hotels will be located in the coastal hotel area, reports hinews.cn.
 
Positioned as an an International Tourist Resort District, more than 32 five-star hotels will cling to the emerald beaches of the bay, including Hilton, Kempinski, Sofitel, Fairmont, Grand Hyatt, Sheraton, Shangri-La, InterContinental and Renaissance. At present, the first batch of star-related hotels such as Conrad and Doubletree Sanya Haitang Bay by Hilton and Renaissance Sanya has been open for business. Local authorities say 5 or 6 luxury hotels will open to guests within this year.
 
According to the plan, the total population in Haitang Bay National Coastal Tourist Resort will reach 250,000 by the end of 2020 with an aim to build Haitang Bay into a world-class vacation paradise.
