Sanya demolishes largest illegal building in Mango Village, Phoenix Town
The Sanya Bureau of Comprehensive Law Enforcement announced on May 13th that an illegal building totaling 14,685 sqm in Mango Village, Phoenix Town of Sanya was demolished in an effort to crack down on illegal use of land by local governments, reports sycb.com.
The illegal building, consisted of 3 connected buildings, was the largest illegal construction that had been slated for demolition since the Sanya government began to carry out a policy to crack down on illegal land use last July.
The illegal building, which had 200 sets of apartments, was designed to be used for hotel business and apartment rentals. Most parts of the construction had been completed.
According to law enforcement officials, the illegal building was jointly built by local villages and illegal investors. The investment on the illegal building was estimated to reach near 27 million yuan.
