Sanya tourism promotion delegation will be arriving in Taiwan on May 11, 2011 for a 9-day visit, according to the Sanya Tourism Development Commission.
 
During the visiting period, the Sanya tourism promotion delegation will meet with Taiwanese travel service representatives and tourism officials as well as visit major Taiwan tourist attractions and facilities.
 
Taiwan has become an important tourist source for Sanya. In 2010, Sanya received 17,700 Taiwan tourists, up 7.6% from the previous year.

With more and more cultural and economic exchanges and cooperation between Hainan and Taiwan, direct flights between Taiwan and Sanya are expected to open in May of this year.
