40 new LNG-fueled mini-buses come into service in Sanya

On May 1, 2011, 40 new mini-buses began to run on the road in the central part of Sanya city to serve passengers, reports xinhuanet.com.
The 40 new buses are part of a transportation project to run smaller on neighborhood routes and in areas where conventional buses have difficulty maneuvering. The buses are also used to assist taxies on some routes where the shortage of taxies can occur at peak times.
The new LNG (liquefied natural gas) fueled buses can accommodate 17 seated passengers each.
The buses are designed to run on 5 different routes in the central part of the city and ticket price is initially set at 1 yuan per person.
