Major scenic spots in Sanya have attracted many tourists on May 1. The number of tourist arrivals to Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park was 5,581 person times, up 51% and The End of the Earth has increased 45% to 12,000 person times on that day.

During the 3-day holidays, the total number of booked hotel rooms  has increase 7% compared with the same period of last year. The average occupancy rate was 75.8%, a mild drop of 5.2%. The number of overnight visitors remained the same compared with the same period in 2010.

Due to the official announcement of Hainan Duty Free policy on May 1, the prices of flights to Hainan Island have seen 10% increase in May Day holiday. The average occupancy rates on flights to Sanya reached 89.5%, a 5.9% increase as compared with same period of last year.
