A total of 12 illegal buildings at Haifeng Village, Haitang Bay of Sanya were demolished on the morning of April 22nd, according to Sanya Bureau of Comprehensive Law Enforcement.

The 12 illegal buildings, covering an area of 6,126 sq m, consisted of 8 hotel-style villas and 4 buildings.

It is learned that since last year some villagers living at Haitang Bay together with illegal investors ignored the city’s laws and regulations to expand their properties at the developing regions in order to demand higher compensation for land used by the state.

Statistics from relevant departments show that government so far has dealt with 11 cases on illegal construction and demolished 470,000 sq m of property.
