Sanya Duty Free Store has received more than 7,000 tourists till 2:20 pm of its first day as the Hainan Duty free Policy started its trial operation from April 20, reports 0898.net.

The shopping transaction volumes for the first day reached more than 2,480 cases.

According to the purchased categories, items which less than 5,000 yuan are mainly focused on the perfume, cosmetics and watches. As for the brand ranking list, Gucci, ESTEE LAUDER and Lancome are among the top list.

"The number of visitors has exceeded our expectation today. Fortunately, the whole procedures have gone smoothly.”, said the Teng Rui, the Vice General Manager of Sanya Duty Free Store.
 
The duty-free goods with prices lower than 5,000 yuan have taken up a large portion of the total sales volume,  and the sales volume of goods with above 5,000 yuan accounted for 10% of the total volume.
