Sea Wolf, Lingshui atop groups at Haikou leg of Hainan Regatta 2013
Sailboat Sea Wolf and Lingshui clinched the top places of their groups respectively at the Haikou leg of the 2013 Tour of Hainan International Regatta ending here Wednesday.
After several hours of racing, sailboat Sea Wolf came first in Group A, knocking Yapai and You Bao into second and third places.
Sailboat Lingshui topped Group B that also included sailboat Haikou, Aloha, Danzhou, Sanya and Wanning. Aloha, which is in the third place in Group B, is the first sailboat driven by women, consisting of five sailors from Netherlands and four from China.
"Women sailors have been sailing together for a period of time and now we work in good tune and we have much confidence to compete with men sailors during the race," said Ma Youling, the captain of Aloha.
The next leg, which is also called the East Hainan Regatta will start from Haikou on Thursday and end in Sanya, covering 200 nautical miles (about 370 kilometers).
