Sanya has 39 uninhabited islets in nearby sea areas

The projects of uninhabited islets exploitation in Sanya has been put on the agenda in 2011. The first batch of uninhabited islets for exploration includes Dongluo Islet, Xigu Islet and Xiaoqingzhou Islet, reports xinhuanet.com.

Sanya has 39 uninhabited islets scattered throughout 209 square kilometers of the nearby sea areas. Apart from Wuzhizhou Islet and West Islet, the rest of these islets haven’t been developed yet.

An official with the marine and fishery office said the first batch of uninhabited islets will be turned into tourist attractions. He also pointed out that any projects related to real estate will not be allowed to be developed on these islets.

Currently, new regulations are expected to be carried out to protect the local ecological environment for the reasonable exploitation on these uninhabited islets.
