On April, 6, a new transoceanic train ferryboat “Yuehaitie No.3” was officially come into service for Qiongzhou Straits. It will add a new force as a transportation link between railways in Guangdong and Hainan Province, reports hndnews.com.

The ferryboat, with a total tonnage of 23,000 tons, is 188 meters in length, 23 meters in width and 15.3 meters in depth. There are two decks, of which the upper deck is designed to carry trains and the lower one is for cars. Besides, it also has a helicopter landing platform on its top surface.

The ferryboat is made up of 24 passenger compartments and can carry 1,398 passengers and 20 tons of cars.

Besides, considering the needs of people with disabilities, the ferryboat is equipped with disabled-friendly facilities to improve the ferryboat quality and services.

The ferryboat was built at a cost of 800 million yuan, together with the Yuehaitie No.4, which is expected to start operation on May of this year.
