A fishing boat was sinking after colliding with a steel vessel on the early morning of April 1 near Sanya Port, two of its crew members were rescued and one is still missing, reports hinews.cn.

The collision occurred on the late night when there were three crew members in the fishing boat. The father was driving and his two sons were sleeping. The boat quickly sank as it hit by the steel vessel.

After receiving the report around 5:00 am, Sanya Maritime Office sent a rescue vessel to the spot of the collision to search for the missing crew member. However, poor sea visibility and strong winds have hampered the rescued effort.

Nearly 4 hours later, the rescuers have been trying to locate the missing one, but there is little hope for the sign for the survival, according to the rescue team.

With great rescuing efforts, the fishing boat was finally towed to the Sanya Port on the early morning next day. The cause of the collision wasn’t immediately known, said the officer.
