Sanya tops list of China’s top 10 tourist destinations during Qingming holiday
According to the latest ranking released by Ctrip.com, a leading travel portal in China, Sanya is ranked No. 1 on the list of the top 10 tourist destinations in China during the upcoming 3-day Qingming Festival, or Tomb Sweeping Day, which falls on April 3 this year.
The ranking list shows that Sanya, Xiamen and Huangshan are the top three tourist destinations on Mainland China while Hong Kong, Bangkok and Seoul are the three most popular cities for overseas tours.
As for short trips, Huangshan, Wuyuan and Shanghai are regarded as the best choices for the 3-day holiday.
Ctrip.com indicated that the list is concluded on the basis of reservations for travel in over 30 cities, travelers’ booking for hotels and air tickets. The result also shows that the number of travelers during this year’s Qingming holiday has far exceeded that of last year.
Due to favourable traveling costs, seaside cities like Sanya and Xiamen have seen a growing number of tourists in recent years. In addition, both cities boast a pleasant climate which is suitable for travel all year round.
