Recently, a gang of robbers have targeted single landlords in some apartments in Sanya while pretending to be a renter, reports 0898.net.

In the morning of March 18th, Ms. Chen, a landlord living in Hedong District, was hurt by a robber with a sharp knife when signing a rental contract with him.
 
The robber, who pretended he was a renter, fled the house after robbing Ms. Chen of RMB700 in cash, a gold ring, a mobile phone and other belongings.

However, this was not the only case that happened in March, other similar cases were reported to the police at Hexi District.

According to the police, the robbers mainly target single landladies under the claim of looking for an apartment. The police also suggested that landlords, especially women, should be more careful and confirm the renter’s identity before letting him/her enter the house.
