Wen Xiaolian, director of the social insurance bureau in Sanya city, Hainan province, has been dismissed from his post for helping his daughter obtain a near-perfect score in a recruiting exam in the city, according to the Sanya city government.

Other people responsible for the scandal were also held accountable.

In May 2010, Wen's daughter scored an impressive 99 out of 100 in a civil service exam held in the city, which aroused doubts among many people about the exam's fairness. Later the local government revoked her score.
