Sanya to boost development of 2 uninhabited islets in 2011
Xigu Islet, Sanya, Hainan
To boost the economy of sea-island tourism, Sanya plans to exploit its uninhabited islets including Dongluo Islet and Xigu Islet in 2011, reports 0898.net.
The two islets, located at the junction of Sanya and Ledong, each cover an area of less than 1 square kilometer. They have become more attractive for many backpackers before officially being exploiting.
According to Sanya Oceanic and Fishery Bureau, these two islets have great potential for development and the traffic there is considered to be more convenient than other uninhabited islands.
In addition, these two islets enjoy some privacy, which are suitable for carrying out high-end tourism products in the future.
At present, relevant development works have been made for approval on the marine use in the future.
