37-meter fire escape chute comes into service in Sanya for high-rise rescue
On March 2rd, 2011, a 37-meter fire escape chute purchased for RMB460,000 was officially put into service in the Sanya Fire Department, reports Hainan.net.
The fire escape chute is made from flame retardant materials and can be suitably used for high-rise buildings during emergencies.
Once in danger, the fire escape chute can be easily installed on windows or balconies and the trapped people can slide down to the ground within 20 seconds, which shortens the rescue time to protect people from fire.
Besides, a series of fire equipment worth RMB4.06 million will be purchased and shortly come into service in Sanya.
At present, there are 227 buildings above 24 meters in Sanya. The purchase and application of fire equipment will greatly improve the fire fighting capacity in Sanya.
