Electric-bicycle boom brings traffic problems in Sanya
Recently, some members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference proposed to strengthen the regulation on electric bikes running on the roads in Sanya as an increasing number of electric bikes have increased traffic problems, reports 0898.net.
According to research, the number of electric bikes in Sanya has increased from 5000 to 40,000 during the last 3-year period. As for traffic accidents, an almost daily non-fatal accident is associated with electric bikes.
The members suggest related departments should take the number of registered electric bikes and strictly suspend the production and sales of unlicensed electric bike manufactures in the future.
