Sanya Deputy Mayor Wu Yanjun and Mayor Nikolaevich of Khabsrovsk, Russia mutually signed a sister-city agreement in the Sanya Shanhaitian Hotel On Feb. 22, 2011.
 
After the establishment of sister-city relationship, both cities will commit to strengthening cooperation and exchanges in the fields of tourism, economy, trade, technology, culture, education and sports to promote mutual prospects and development.
 
Meanwhile, the Khabsrovsk government will set up its representative office in Sanya to keep close contact with the local government on mutual concerned issues in the future.
 
At present, Sanya has more than a dozen sister cities including Cancun in Mexico, Cannes in France, Yalta in Russia, Alhambra in America and Seogwipo in Korea.
 
In 2010, the number of Russian tourists in Sanya reached 148,000, accounting for 36% of total inbound tourists.
 
At present, charter flights from Khabsrovsk to Sanya have been launched for once a week.
