An all-new A320 plane, which flew from Hamburg International Airport in Germany, landed at the Haikou Meilan International Airport on Monday. It is the second new aircraft introduced by China Southern Airlines and registered in Haikou after the first one on January 26, 2013.

Since 2008, China Southern Airlines has put 18 new aircraft in use in Hainan. The total number of newly registered aircraft in Hainan is expected to reach 26 by the end of 2013.

The market share of Southern Airlines in Haikou stands at 26.1%, and it is the leader in the Hainan market. It also made an important contribution to the record-breaking 10-million passenger throughput of Meilan International Airport in 2012.

In recent years, Haikou has issued a series of favorable policies to attract airline companies to run more flights, with the aim of promoting its air transport market.
