Sanya Long-distance Bus Station

SANYA – The opening of East Ring High-speed Railway has put an increasing pressure on the city’s roads during CNY holiday since more and more people choose the high-speed railway to travel to Sanya, reports 0898.net.

The number of passengers in Sanya Long-distance Bus Station has dropped 70% during the first day of the CNY holiday, the daily runs, with a total of 700 passengers, are half of the same period of last year.

"During that period, the number of long-distance buses between Sanya and Haikou has been cut from an average of 135 buses a day to 90 buses a day," said a staff member working at Sanya Long-distance Bus Station.

The bullet train, with a top speed of 250 km per hour, has shortened the travel time between Sanya and Haikou to 90 minutes. Many passengers who used to go home for family reunions by long-distance buses have turned to travel by high-speed trains.
