Sanya becomes port of departure for Greek cruise liner ‘Hainan Empress’
The ship, which weighs 23,000 gross tons, is 174 meters in length and 24 meters in width with a height of 45.62 meters. The luxury ship boasts 350 rooms with various types. The maximum passenger capacity is 600.
The ship is the first cuise liner that was named after Hainan province and Sanya will be the port of departure for its future journey.
"Hainan is one of the most potential regions which enjoy an attractive harbour for the development of cruise liner industry. The influx of cruise liners will be of great benefit to the local economy.”, said Lu Zhiyuan, the director of Provincial Tourism Bureau.
After the complete of preparation works, the ship will launch its Hainan island trip, carrying passengers to take a full view of Hainan Island.
