24-hour self-service library put into service in Sanya
The first outdoor 24-hour self-service library in Sanya was put into service on Jan 24, 2011, reports hinews.cn.
The self-service library is invested by the Sanya Government with an investment of 1.14 million yuan. There are a total of 2 self-service libraries set up in front of the Sanya Library and Sanya Culture & Sport Bureau respectively.
The self-service library adopts an automatic technology which provides readers access to the documents collection reserved in the Sanya Library terminal service system. Each reader can apply for a library card by presenting their ID cards on the self-service library, which is intelligent, self-service and convenient.
The self-service library can be placed near communities or along streets to improve service efficiency and quality of the public library for the public.
According to the bureau, more self-service libraries will be set up near the airport, bus stations and schools across the city in an effort to greatly meet the spiritual and cultural demands of residents and tourists in Sanya.
