Sanya Ring Expressway to begin operation by end of 2011
The project of Ring Expressway in Sanya has basically completed and is expected to put into operation at the end of this year, according to the local authorities on Saturday.
The Sanya Ring Expressway project started construction on June 15, 2009. It is an important infrastructure project in Sanya.
The road measures 26 meters in width and 30.5 km in length, covering an area of 3,278 hectares. Vehicles are expected to run at a speed of 100 km/h on the expressway.
The expressway starts from the Damao Village, Jiyang County, linking the East Line Highway and West Line Highway and bringing together the tourist attractions including Yalong Bay, Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone and the End of the Earth along the expressway.
At present, relevant departments are actively accelerating the construction progress to ensure the completion by the end of this year.
