Over 2,000 volunteers participate in volunteering services in Sanya
On the morning of Jan 1, 2011, a series of volunteer service activities, which were jointly hosted by the Communist Youth League, Sanya Volunteer Association and relevant departments, kicked off on the Haiyue Square, Sanya Bay, reports Sanya Morning Post.
These volunteer activities brought together a diverse group of more than 2,000 volunteers from various organizations and communities. The volunteers are making great efforts to create a civilized tourism environment in Sanya, and deepen the understanding of volunteer services for social development.
From Jan 1 to Feb 7, 2011, for nearly one month, the volunteers will be committed to providing volunteer services in public places and transport stations. They will also help the communities do cleaning works to create a sanitary environment for Sanya people and tourists to spend joyful holidays.
The volunteer works around the city is of great significance and will greatly guide more people to devote themselves to the healthy development of an international tourism island.
