Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone in Sanya is seething with tourists on Jan 3, 2011

More than 20,000 passengers experienced the new and fast bullet train by traveling to and from Sanya during the 3-day 2011 New Year’s holiday, since the East Ring High-speed Railway in Hainan opened on Dec. 30, 2010, reports sanya.hinews.cn.

From Jan 1 to Jan 3, 2011, most tourist attractions in Sanya, including Tianyahaijiao Resort (The End of the Earth) and Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone, received a boost as many tourists chose to take the bullet train for their travel.

The opening of the East Ring High-Speed Railway has also boosted the hospitality maket in Sanya. The average occupancy rate of  Sanya’s star-rated hotels rose to 80% during the 3-day holiday, among which the five-star hotels’ occupancy rate was above 90%.

The East Ring High-Speed Railway has greatly shortened the travel time between Haikou and Sanya to 90 minutes, making the "East Line One-day Tour" a reality.

According to the Sanya Tourism Association, the high-speed railway will facilitate tourists who take a one-day sightseeing tour around Hainan Island and greatly promote Sanya tourism development and the city as a whole.
