Sanya orders fire safety push after deadly Shanghai high-rise blaze
The deadly apartment block fire in Shanghai has caused 53 deaths. In response to that, the General Office of China’s State Council issued a circular, ordering more strict fire control measures to prevent serious fire accidents on Tuesday.
The Sanya Fire Department has launched a large-scale inspection of fire control on Nov 17th and two units, 16-story Shuanglong Building and building site of Luneng new city project have been urged to rectify due to the potential safety hazards of fire accidents.
Many fire protection equipments have been purchased, such as 40-meter aerial ladder truck and high-power tank truck.
“At present, we can only reach the 14th floor of the building. If the fire accident happens above the 14th floor, we can only use the water from the building to extinguish the fire.” said the responsible person of the Sanya Fire Department.
